About Us
I was six years old the first time I visited Santa Clara in Yauco. As a kid I looked with curiosity at the old machinery. I imaged it all working, the dozens of people hand-picking the cherries, the drawers full of coffee drying under the sun and the catalina, that huge wheel that effortlessly would have moved with the force of the River Prieto. I liked to think that maybe someday I would be able to process coffee once again, in honor of the Hacienda and its people.
Now I’m 31 years old and we have harvested coffee for two years. My wife, Mariana Suárez and I have worked arduously for this. We studied everything about coffee for many years and met with various important people of the industry in Puerto Rico and abroad. We are both committed to the agriculture of our island.
Our mission is to present our coffee from Yauco in its purest form, without altering its essence and honoring the Puerto Rican hands that laboriously harvested it. This is the only way that you, our customer, will be able to experience the undeniable Puerto Rican coffee taste, that for many centuries has been celebrated as one of the best coffees worldwide.
